Who We Are

We are the Georgia Veterinary Technician Association, and our website address is: https://gvta.info/. Our membership only website is https://gvta.wildapricot.org/. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in Georgia.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies are set up to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Who On Our Team Has Access

The GVTA Executive Board and the GVTA Executive Committee have access to the information you provide us. For example:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, 

  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information, and

  • Member information provided at sign-up (first & last name, address, email, phone #)

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

Who OUTSIDE Our Team Has Access

As of September 26th, 2025 - GVTA will share member information with the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association (GVMA, https://gvma.net/) in good faith that it will be for verification purposes only. The GVMA has created a veterinary technician membership, with the requirement that veterinary technician members are already members of GVTA. 

How Long We Retain Your Data

For users that register on our website, we store the personal information provided in creation of the user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can see most of the information (except the user's password) and edit all information (including resetting the user's password). When a user's membership has lapsed, some user information (first and last name, email, veterinary technician license number) is retained for historical membership documentation and to allow for easy membership renewal upon request. Remaining information (email address, phone number) are retained for 3 years, then deleted. All user information can be provided upon request, and all user information can be deleted upon request. 

Member data (provided at time of sign up) is stored on a live document, that will be shared with GVMA starting September 26th. 

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
